April 2021 marks 12 months since CAS officially launched, and with a milestone birthday naturally comes a time to reflect on what an unforgettable first year we’ve had.
Our services
After learning that a former supplier at London Stansted Airport was exiting the sector, we made the somewhat daring decision to launch at the start of lockdown here in the UK. Despite the immense uncertainty facing the industry at the time, we were keen to start providing immediate support to UK-based FBOs and airports.
We started with services including general screening and meet and assist, but very quickly introduced additional services too, the first of which was our specialist dog detection teams.
With the use of sniffer dogs becoming more accepted as a highly effective and highly mobile means of detecting contraband and explosives, introducing this service just one month after launch made perfect sense for the company. The service was well-received, and, in July 2020, we were even able to hold an events day to showcase the incredible dog team to our clients and the wider airport staff.
Just a few months later in December, we expanded our offerings once again, this time to include vetting services. As an aviation security company, all our staff members have been fully vetted and CTC and CR checked, meaning that we understand exactly what is needed in vetting for a highly sensitive role. We decided to use this expertise to create and provide our clients with bespoke vetting packages to get their employees through the system as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The last 12 months have also seen the introduction of a brand-new gas detection drone to our existing drone portfolio, as well as refresher training for furloughed aviation staff. We’ve seen first-hand the impacts of COVID-19 on the aviation industry, and we wanted to help airports across the UK by providing their furloughed staff with essential training on the latest compliance standards.
Our team
It’s not just our service portfolio that we’ve expanded on over the past year. We’ve also been lucky enough to expand our incredible team and their skillset too.
The month of November was a very busy month for development, with our team completing their NVQs in Customer Service and our development supervisors passing their training with flying colours. We also welcomed some new recruits just a few months later in January, after they passed their essential ground security training.
Here at CAS, we believe the best way to provide the highest level of service to our clients is by continually investing in our staff, and we’re excited to keep this up in the future.
Our clients
Despite having a passionate and dedicated team providing a range of essential security services, we wouldn’t be here celebrating our 1st anniversary if it weren’t for our incredible clients.
We’re so pleased to have managed to ensure resilience for them throughout the pandemic and are now looking forward to supporting them further as we slowly emerge from these challenging times.
2021 promises to be an exciting year for Concorde Airport Security. We have lots of plans already lined up, including some charity events just around the corner, so be sure to check back regularly to see what we’ve been up to.
